The Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of Freedom And The Rights Of The People

Well people, we've scored a victory for civil rights, and YOUR right to protect your life and your family. The 2nd amendment has been upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States! Not that it should have ever come into question, but our 2nd amendment right was up for decision in the case regarding banning handguns in Washington D.C., and with a close decision(5-4) the court ruled that it is indeed our right to possess weapons.

I'm not going to get into how I feel about this subject, because you can read that all here. I'm just happy that I get to hang on to another piece of freedom for the time being. I would also like to point out that the decision was VERY close... too close for comfort. If we end up with a Democrat as President, expect this to go the other way next time... and believe me, there will be a next time.

I'll leave you with an excerpt from SCOTUSblog:

Examining the words of the Amendment, the Court concluded “we find they guarantee the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation” — in other words, for self-defense. “The inherent right of self-defense has been central to the Second Amendment right,” it added.

The individual right interpretation, the Court said, “is strongly confirmed by the historical background of the Second Amendment,” going back to 17th Century England, as well as by gun rights laws in the states before and immediately after the Amendment was put into the U.S. Constitution.

Did u say "If we end up with a Democrat as President..." hahaha... u know there is no if's, and's, or but's about it... that my dear watson is simply a fact (that hasn't been proven yet, but it will be come November). The outcome of the NEXT 2nd amendment vote however is not a known fact. So u can rest at ease captain, have faith that all the brave voters out there know what they are getting themselves into ;)

You may be blindly dedicated to a man, but what is important is how that man and his party feel about the rights of a nation. What's best for some, isn't best for all...

Think about that when you make your choices come November. I understand that you may agree with some ideas and promises... but that's all they are, ideas and promises. Bottom line, the 2nd amendment is fact and it exists to protect you from danger... whether that danger comes in the form of an attacker or as the unlawful force of a suddenly malevolent government.

I can't agree with any person that thinks the free people of American should give up the right to protect themselves. Self preservation is ingrained in the DNA of every living thing on this planet, and your most basic instincts should always take precedence over your political views. Example: Ask yourself what is more important to you. Protecting your life or better education for kids in an urban half a country away? I think the answer is obvious.

That's why the 2nd amendment is so important to me. That's also why I can't identify with the liberal agenda or their puppets.

I wasn't arguing the fact that the 2nd amendment should be taken away or anything of that nature.

I was just addressing the inevitable, that we will be stuck with a Democratic president this time around because McCain literally has no chance in hell...

so whatever effect that has on the right to bear arms is a whole separate issue of discussion.

Personally I would like to protect myself FROM the better education for in an urban half a country away ;)

I posted two articles on this actually. These guys completely ignore historical context, trying to interpret what the founding fathers meant by the 2nd amendment. If you look up some info on James Madison, he very clearly defines what his intent was when he authored the bill of rights... He wanted the government to be afraid of its people, to keep it honest.

In fact, all of the found fathers clarify what militia means... fuck the supreme court for thinking it is up to them to interpret anything! And those 4 who tried to allow the DC gun ban have absolutely no sense of individual rights, freedom, or the Principles this country was founded upon.

BTW, my two articles are loaded with quotes from the founding fathers about this, proving the intent of the 2nd amendment...
